"Spanish Pin Fir is an evergreen conifer with broadly conical sweeping branches in regular intervals around the trunk that usually form a symmetrical crown. Needles are very erect, stiff and thick as well as very sharp-pointed. The twigs on this fir are brownish-green, hairless and very stiff as well. The cones are cylindrical and erect and grow to almost a inch long. Also called soap fir, since twigs crushed in water yield a kind of soap. "
