"Native of Manchuria and Korea. Manchurian Fir is one of the most characteristic trees at low altitudes. Grows in valleys on deep humus soils. Deserves to be more widely planted. One of the best of the smaller Abies. Growth slow at first then quite rapid. Tree grows to 45 feet high in native habitat. Bright green leaves, grayish underneath. Cones cylindrical, apex bluntly rounded and somewhat depressed, blue-yellow-green then bright yellow-brown-gray Zone 5-7 ."
